About Evie's Editing Services

Evie Franzidis is an experienced copyeditor and writer based in Brisbane, specialising in Australian contemporary art. Since 2009, Evie has forged ongoing relationships with teams in national, regional, and university-based art galleries and museums across Australia, working closely with curators, writers, and designers to see high-quality projects to fruition. Over this time, Evie has copyedited over 140 publications, including exhibition catalogues, artist monographs, and anthologies, as well as their accompanying didactics, labels, webpages, and promotional material. Many projects involve creative teams who are spread out geographically, and Evie frequently acts as the central point of contact. She works collegially, meticulously and efficiently, providing expert and sensitive feedback to the various stakeholders. As a copyeditor, Evie aims for clarity, consistency and coherence, while always being mindful of retaining the author’s voice. As a writer, Evie works closely with curators and gallerists to ensure she is meeting the brief, adhering to the institution’s ethos, and creating text that engages the intended audience.

"Evie is highly professional to work with, consistently delivering on quick turnarounds without ever compromising on quality or attention to detail. What truly sets her apart is her remarkably light touch—she has an innate ability to refine and elevate content while respecting both the unique voice and tone of individual authors and the broader institutional needs of the Museum."
