Evie was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her communication was prompt and efficient, and she always delivered on or before the agreed timeline. Evie’s approach extended beyond copy-editing to assess the accuracy of discipline-specific content in addition to providing grammatical advice. Evie is the most skilled editor I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. I started working with Evie around 2017. Her precision, knowledge, and skill in the editing and research space is remarkable. To put it simply, Evie made my job easier, and in times (of which there were many) with tight-turnarounds, I had full faith and trust in her to execute and complete the work fast, flawlessly and to an incredibly high standard. The way Evie works has raised the bar for all editors I’ve worked with since, I could recommend her services more.

I have known Evie since 2010, when she was working as the editor at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane, and the editorial assistant of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Art, of which I was reviews editor. At the time, I was also working at the Queensland Art GalleryGallery of Modern Art, as Curator of Australian Art. Through our connection at the Journal, I was made aware of Evie’s editing skills and abilities, so when I became the Director of the Griffith University Art Museum in 2015, I engaged Evie to edit our publications on a freelance basis. Since then, Evie has continued to edit many of our catalogues, artist monographs, exhibition didactics, online collateral, and much more. She has proven herself to be a skilled, knowledgeable, and highly professional editor.

—Angela Goddard, Director, Cairns Art Gallery (formerly Director, Griffith University Art Museum)

Evie has worked with our team for nearly a decade, firstly at CREATIVEMOVE and now at Onespace. She gets our artists, our writers, and our audiences, and edits our material with clarity and coherence. She works with both the gallery team and our writers to make sure that the written expression we publish is clear and understandable. Evie is meticulous with acute attention to detail. Her incredible work enhances the writing of our authors … Evie understands our turnaround times, which on some occasions can be very fast if a writer is running late. Evie has always met our deadlines and always with such good will and humour.

—John Stafford, Director, Onespace

—Esther Gyorki, Curator and project manager (Gyorki Projects)

Can't recommend Evie more highly! Her knowledge, and ability to distill even the most complex texts into clear and concise publications without losing the author's voice, never fails to amaze me. My own writing has benefitted hugely from the insights she provides. She is always professional, offers well-considered and researched advice, and great at a quick turn around—a necessity when you're at the pointy end of getting a publication to print!

—Carrie McCarthy, Acting Director, Griffith University Art Museum
